General

1. Write the important ideas known as a configuration, and leave 

out most of the details.


2. Do not copy exact complete paragraph because it is already a summary of the main points or a restatement of the main idea.

3. Use as few words as possible without omitting important points.

4. Use your own words . Do not copy sentences from the original.


Is computer everthing?

Computers have changed the way we communicate, do business, and educate our children in both good and bad ways. We now communicate through e-mail, chat rooms, and online dating services. We can also shop online and work at home. Computers in schools allow students to practice new skills, exchange ideas with students in other parts of the world, and do research more easily. Computers have negative effects, too. Some people spend too much time surfing the Net, and there is the danger of meeting bad people online. Also, some people say that computers should not replace teachers in elementary schools.


Body structure:

1.state your opinion in the first paragraph statement.

2.support your opinion with reasons.(the device)

3.support your reasons with specific details(examples)


Necessary check:

  1. Do the first few sentences of the introduction lead you to the essay statement? Where is the essay statement ?

  2. What kind of supporting details does the writer use in each body paragraph (examples, statistics, facts, etc.)?

  3. Is any sentence unnecessary or off the topic?

  4. Is this an effective ending (one that you will remember)? Does this essay have-a nutshell of the main points or a restatement of the main body




Item to notice:


  1. Copy the topic sentence. Circle the topic and underline the words that tell you that this is a comparison/contrast statement

  2. On what points does the author compare or contrast the items? List them.

  3. Content and Organization

  4. My paragraph begins with a topic sentence that domain the body topic

  5. Whether the categorized with distinguishing characteristic.?

  6. My supporting sentences explain my topic completely.

  7. My paragraph ends with a nutshell sentence.

  8. My paragraph has unity or streamline rather than fragmental

  9. My paragraph has coherence.

  1. How many adjective clauses and appositives can you find?

  1. Do my paragraph begin with a topic sentence that contains both a topic and a controlling idea.

  1. Do my paragraph contains several supporting point or example?
